Practical Information

Covid Regulations

Travelling to and from the Autonomous Region of Madeira is currently allowed. Please note that the regulations might differ depending on your place of departure. We therefore ask you to check this page or the respective foreign ministry pages for all information.

Please note that you will be asked to complete a mandatory epidemiological survey (on the digital platform madeirasafe.com) and provide either a vaccination certificate, or proof of recovery, or a negative PCR test upon arrival. In case of transit in Portugal (Lisbon or Porto) you have to register before boarding your plane on https://portugalcleanandsafe.pt/en/passenger-locator-card.

Important Update Nov 22, 2021

We learned that from November 29 stricter Covid regulations will apply in Madeira. It is important to note that nothing has changed on the requirements for entry: upon arrival you will have to provide either a vaccination certificate, or proof of recovery, or a negative PCR test. Moreover, for our event at the university nothing changes: either you are vaccinated or recovered from Covid, or you have a PCR test that you already used for boarding your flight and entering Madeira.

The nightly curfew (between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m.) remains in effect (this does not apply to trips to the airport).

The main changes are that for some events only vaccinated or people recovered from COVID-19 disease are permitted. In some cases, access is also combined with an additional compulsory test (antigen rapid test). This Covid test will have a validity of seven days. While the new rules are for some period of time recommendations only, we cannot guarantee that you will have access to restaurants unless you have proof of vaccination and in addition to that also a Covid test.

Therefore we strongly advise all participants of our event (even vaccinated or recovered participants) to get a Covid test before flying to Madeira, because this test can be used for restaurants or bars in case the rules change to mandatory.

As these new rules might result in some problems for participants who are neither vaccinated nor recovered from Covid, we can offer an extended cancellation. Therefore, we would like to ask you to send an email to registration@logic.at
