Membership
Anyone interested in the activities of the society is invited to become a member.
- Academics in relevant fields are accepted as members of the Kurt Gödel Society upon an informal application and a proof of their academic degree. The fulfilment of the application conditions and relevance of the field is decided by the Executive Vice President and in case of a denial of the membership stated by the Executive Vice President by the General Assembly.
- Students pursuing relevant studies are accepted as members of the Kurt Gödel Society upon an informal application, proof of their student status and submission of one letter of recommendation from a researcher. The fulfilment of the application conditions and relevance of the field is decided by the Executive Vice President and in case of a denial of the membership stated by the Executive Vice President by the General Assembly.
- All other applicants are accepted as members of the Kurt Gödel Society by decision of the General Assembly upon submission of a CV, an informal application and two letters of recommendation from researchers.
- Legal persons are accepted as members of the Kurt Gödel Society by decision of the General Assembly upon application.
- The General Assembly may decide to award all registered participants of a conference a limited or an unlimited membership.
- Honorary memberships are awarded by the General Assembly upon suggestion by at least one member of the board.
Membership Dues
The Kurt Gödel Society receives only a small subsidy from the Austrian Ministry of Science and hence depends on membership dues to finance its activities. Current membership fees are
€ 20 for individual members, € 7 for students
The executive board is still entitled to waive membership fees on a case-by-case basis for members from countries with currency problems, in particular Eastern Europe and South America.
